sealord > This rough triggerfish, Canthidermis maculatus, was photographed at the Phuket fish market in Thailand in December 1990. This triggerfish is found worldwide in tropical seas. The flying fish fishermen of Barbados who call it 'turbot' also catch it. It is also common around Bermuda where it is called ocean turbot. The fillets are broad. sealord > This image is a montage made of images of fifty-four species of fish found in Guernsey waters. This montage was designed to be 20 cm x 14 cm at 300 dpi. This montage includes an image of the first Guinean amberjack, Seriola carpenteri, caught in the British Islands. It was caught on 7 September 2000 to the east of Herm Island in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Another unusual species found in Guernsey waters is the European or Mediterranean moray eel, Muraena helena. Commercial species include bass, Dicentrarchus labrax; rays, Raja; breams, sparidae; flatfish such as turbot and brill, and codfishes such as pollack, Pollachius pollachius.
