sealord > The sponge, Pachymatisma johnstonia, grows on a wall of the Gouliot caves on Sark's west coast.  I visited the cave system during a low spring tide on the 12 September 2007.  The Gouliot Caves were designated a RAMSAR site in April 2007.

sealord > I found this tube anemone, Cerianthus lloydii, in a bed of eel grass, Zostera marina, at extreme low water spring tide (ELWS) on the sandy shore on the southern side of Belle Greve Bay.  This anemone was in about 5 cm of water.  As the first wave of the rising tide swept over it the anemone quickly disappeared from view down its tube.
