Marine life found in the Queen Elizabeth II marina in St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands, Great Britain
Schools of sandsmelts, Atherina presbyter, come into Queen Elizabeth marina 2, St. Peter Port, Guernsey with the tide. They frequent St. Peter Port harbour during the latter part of the year. They fright easily and are difficult to photograph with a camera with only a 3X optical zoom. The two fish on the left are so close together that their heads appear to be fused together. The fish closest to the top of the image is probably a two-spotted goby, Gobiusculus flavescens, which is abundant in the marina all year long.
